Felixstow Primary School (FPS) is a small Department for Education public school that is currently under the guidance of a DfE Capacity Management Plan and zone which was gazetted on April 30th 2020.

FPS is committed to the development of a community environment, where teachers, parents, students and extended community work together as partners in learning with a progressive education and creative arts focus and high expectations for every learner.

As we are a small school we have limited places and operate under a Capacity Management Plan and zone.

Reception

The Registration of Interest for Reception in 2024 is now open

Registration of Interest Form : See our online form

If more than 15 applications are received by the above date, places will be offered based on consideration of the following factors:

  • the child has siblings currently enrolled in the school and will be attending the school in the same calendar year
  • the length of time the child has lived in the school zone
  • the distance of the child’s residence from the school
  • any other personal needs, such as curriculum, transportation/location convenience,  and social/family links at the school.

Please note: a Registration of Interest does not guarantee an enrolment at the school.

Unsuccessful applicants or late applications will be placed on an enrolment register and referred for enrolment to other neighbouring schools.

Year 1 to Year 6

Requests to transfer from other schools, will be considered where there are vacancies, and there are no other families on the school’s enrolment register. Where there are no vacancies parents can request for their child’s name to be placed on the school’s enrolment register. The school will keep a child’s name on the enrolment register for 12 months. The school will consider families on the enrolment register in Week 1 Term 4 for enrolment at the start of the 2024 school year. Offers for enrolment will be considered based on whether the child has a sibling already attending the school, the distance of the child’s residence from the school and other personal needs.

All offers for enrolment will be in accordance with the school’s Capacity Management Plan (CMP) and zone.

Principal tours

We run Principal School tours regularly. Please note that the tours are booked well in advance and only a certain number of parents can be accommodated on each tour on first come first serve basis. Also it should be noted that the tour does not guarantee that the child will be accepted in the school.

Please ring or email the school to book a place on an upcoming tour.
